One of the aims of this study was to assess the effects of mindfulness on people with Parkinson’s disease. A small study of 14 people found that 39% of them were able to reduce their anxiety, depression, and distress about their symptoms. It also revealed that the practice of mindfulness improves verbal fluency and memory. Participants reported improved daily activities after six weeks. Although the study only included individuals with mild to moderate PD, future research may include patients with more advanced stages of the disease and their caregivers.
