Writing Meditation to Reclaim Confidence and Self-Worth  | Mindful Movement

This practice is a combination of meditation and guided journal writing. If you’ve ever been interested in connecting with and becoming more aware of yourself through journaling, this meditation is for you.

I will guide you through a brief relaxation process to prepare your body and mind. Once in a meditative grounded state, I will offer you 5 prompts with two minutes to respond to each. The start and finish of each writing time will be signaled by a bell.

Take a moment to gather a journal, and a pen or pencil. There is no right or wrong way to do this. Simply write for the time offered, no need to worry about grammar, spelling, punctuation, or handwriting. You don’t need to edit or review what you are writing, simply write freely.

Take a long slow breath in through your Nose And thigh it out through your mouth Take two more just like this To begin to calm your body and mind Now you can begin to use your breath To progressively relax Each part of your body From your feet To your head Take a breath in And as you breathe out Relax your feet and ankles Take another breath in And breathe out Soften your legs Breathe in to fill up with curiosity And compassion And breathe out to let go of any tension In your hips and lower back Breathe in and expand your energy Breathe out relax your chest and Shoulders Take another long slow breath in Preparing your mind and body And as you breathe out Relax your neck Facial muscles and head completely Now continue to enjoy this peaceful and Calm state If it resonates Adopt the intention To be open And to allow this process to be exactly
